100 Hour Orthopedic Massage Certificate Program

This is the most comprehensive Orthopedic Massage and Pain Management training program that is currently available. You will learn client assessment, treatment protocols and individualized client self care. There is a written exam. This certification will allow you to align with the medical/clinical community and seek referrals from them.

Requirements:

1. 80 Hours of classroom attended (within a three year period of time)

These three seminars taken in any order:
Upper Body Seminar 20 CEU's
Lower Body Seminar 20 CEU's
5-day Seminar 40 CEU's

Or Two 5-day Seminars 80 CEU's
You must bring copies of your seminar certificates to the exam to verify that you have completed the seminars

2. 20 Hours of Documented Case Studies - CASE STUDIES MUST BE SUBMITTED TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO TESTING - NO EXCEPTIONS

SOAP Notes Form (PDF)
We offer testing at all seminars upon two weeks
notification that you are prepared to test.
SOAP notes must be received by CFPM 2 weeks prior to test date.

Use the SOAP notes format to document 20 hours of client case studies. List condition(s) your client presents with, your assessment, treatment and suggestions including client home care stretches and/or strengthening exercises. Follow up with results obtained (range of motion changes, pain reduction, postural changes, etc.) You must include case studies of both upper body and lower body conditions; including 4 hours of case studies for each of the following body parts:

4 - Cervical Conditions
4 - Shoulder Conditions
4 - Elbow, Forearm, Wrist or Hand Conditions
4 - Hip/ Low Back Conditions
4 - Knee or Lower Extremity Conditions

3. Examination

One Weekend Night; Friday or Saturday, usually 6:30-8:30 pm
A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the exam
This will place you on our website as an Advanced Orthopedic Massage Practitioner
The exam fee is $150
The exam consists of 7 sections:

  1. General/ 12 Step Approach
  2. Hip Conditions
  3. Lower Leg Conditions
  4. Knee and Thigh Conditions
  5. Shoulder Conditions
  6. Cervical Conditions
  7. Elbow, Forearm, Wrist and Hand Conditions

Plus 2 bonus questions from Client Self Care
