Dear Orthopedic Massage Practitioner,
This very important letter is going out to all past participants in James Waslaski's Orthopedic Massage Seminars that are currently listed on our website on the preferred practitioner page. As of January 1, 2004 we have developed criteria to identify elite level orthopedic massage practitioners, and major changes will be made starting May 1, 2005 to identify the practitioners at the various levels. James' work has evolved tremendously since 2002 and only those practitioners that have completed a Five Day Intensive since January 1, 2002 will remain on our website. We are getting hundreds of contacts per month from patient's around the world looking for therapists that "really know" the orthopedic massage work taught by James Waslaski. The work now involves thorough functional assessment, myofascial release, structural integration, neuromuscular therapy, positional release, neuromuscular re-education, scar tissue mobilization techniques, joint capsule work, myoskeletal alignment techniques, active isolated and p.n.f. stretching, strength training, individualized client home care and a revolutionary approach to treating tendon pain. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to restore structural balance throughout the body to eliminate all conditions of chronic pain & sports injuries.
The work that was learned by practitioners prior to 2002 is now relatively outdated. This tremendous evolution in pain management protocols also has James traveling 40 week-ends per year throughout the U.S., Canada, Scotland, Ireland, London, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Australia, and the Caribbean. The participants now include intermediate and elite level massage therapists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and chiropractors. We intend to start including these additional credentials with elite level practitioners on our website.
As of January of 2004, to be listed on the website as an entry level preferred practitioner you must have completed a Five Day Intensive since January 1, 2002. You are no longer listed on the website for completing the upper and lower body week-ends seminars. We do suggest that you take the upper and lower body week-ends prior to the Five Day Intensive as the five day is more advanced and also addresses working with sports medicine experts such as athletic trainers, strength training coaches and orthopedic physicians. The Five Day Intensives, which usually sell out early, are now limited to only 40-50 participants and have the assistance of 5-7 of our most elite orthopedic massage practitioners from throughout the United States. This assures the highest quality of supervised training possible, and adequately prepares you for our new certification exam. For more information, go to the Certification Program sidebar.
Please note that your name will be removed on May 1, 2005 if you have not taken a Five Day Intensive since January 1, 2002. This sets a higher standard and assures that people using the website to select a therapist will receive the highest quality of therapy possible. We encourage you to become certified in this work and perhaps apply to become an assistant instructor once you are certified. Another new criteria is that all assistants in our five day intensive are required to take the five day intensive a minimum of two times and then apply to assist at seminars in their area. Our current top level assistants will al be certified and will help with selection of new assistants. They will also be listed as a teaching assistant on our website and the select few that start teaching for James Waslaski will be at the highest level. The current top level assistants now have successful practices that they previously only dreamed of prior to mastering this powerful work. Clients frequently fly across the country to seek out treatments from these elite level orthopedic massage practitioners.
Congratulations on your current level of success in Orthopedic Massage and we look forward to seeing many of you in our certification programs! Thanks and have a great day!
Sincerely,
James Waslaski
